We are currently recruiting a Journey-person Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to join our Nugget Pond Milling Operations Team, reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Specific Skills Requirements:

1.       Accountable for carrying out duties in a manner that will minimize risk and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel within area of influence including contractors.

2.       Maintain all mechanical equipment to a high standard in order to maximize availability of the process plant and all equipment in workshops.

3.       Assist respective supervision in their duties.

 

Specific Functions:

·         Ensure safe work practices and safety of working areas are maintained; assess each job prior to commencement of work for safe working and correct equipment.

·         Maintain close liaison and cooperation with the Maintenance and Operations Supervisors to ensure optimum equipment performance and availability.

·         Carry out daily maintenance works of all process plant equipment, structure, potable water, domestic, and waste treatment.

·         Following approval, undertake necessary improvements and modifications to plant and equipment as required.

·         Visually check all equipment, fix or report all faults and problems.

·         Report all safety hazards, environmental hazards, incidents, damage, breakdowns, and potential plant or

equipment stoppages to a Supervisor as soon as is practicable including those not directly

related to your specific areas of responsibility.

·         Maintain a good level of housekeeping, keep workshops and work areas clean at all times.

·         Demonstrate effective performance in achieving agreed safety goals in support of the department, site, and company safety requirements.

·         Compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements.

·         Complete shift work and participate in a call out roster.

·         Update and maintain preventative maintenance records and documents.

·         Any other duties as may reasonably be required by site management.

 

 

·         Attendance and active participation at training meetings, seminars, or courses that may be offered. Undertake any assessment that may be required and apply knowledge obtained during training in the workplace.

·         Apply the correct Isolation and Tag Out procedure on plant and equipment prior to the commencement of inspection or maintenance works.

·         When working at heights or using ladders ensure site safety procedures are followed at all times.

·         Implement Hot Work Permit System.

·         Actively maintain knowledge of and compliance with all company policies, standard operating procedures and other documents that are appropriate to the workplace.

·         Positively influence the safe and productive improvement of precesses and practices within your work area.

 

 

Qualifications:

·         Interprovincial (Red Seal) Millwright Certificate

 

Experience:

·         Previous experience in a mining/production enviroment would be an asset.

·         Familiar with maintenance requirements of fixed plant equipment or equivalent.

·         Welding/fabricating experience would be an asset

Safety:

The individual will have the authority and responsibility for maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. He or she must follow company safety and health standards and report any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her supervisor. The individual is responsible for the use of all safety equipment, i.e., lanyards, warning signs and labeling, according to company rules and applicable legislation. He or she is also responsible to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
